SCOOBY DOO DEUX TOPS WEEKEND BOX OFFICE

Time Warner Inc.'s 'Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed', a sequel based on the snack-craving cartoon dog, opened as the top-grossing film in the U.S. and Canada this weekend with an estimated $30.7 million in ticket sales. Scooby-Doo 2 distibutor Warner Bros. is capitalizing on the success of the first film, which brough in $54.2 million in its opening weekend. A third installment of the franchise, tentatively titled 'Scooby Doo 3: Bite Me' is in the works.
