SHARON CLEARED OF BRIBERY; GLUTTONY CHARGE STANDS
Israel's attorney general yesterday exonerated Prime Minister Ariel Sharon and his son, Gilad, from inlfluence-peddling charges, but said the Prime Minister would face trial on several counts of gluttony. The move by Attorney General Menachem Mazuz -- which had been predicted by the local media -- cleared the way for talks with the opposition Labor Party on a unity government. The only remaining obstacle was whether Sharon would get one or two votes in Cabinet meetings, given his size.
