SADDAM PLEADS 'NOLO CONTENDRE'

Saddam Hussein made his first appearance in court yesterday. In a surprise legal move, the toppled Iraqi tyrant, who ruled his nation with an iron fist for 24 years, pleaded 'Nolo Contendre' to a litany of charges ranging from genocide to crimes against humanity. Legal scholars noted that 'Nolo Contendre' is usually resigned to traffic court and is used primarily to assauge guilt without pleading guilty or innocent. Asked by the presiding Iraqi judge whether he had any statement to make, Hussein, in broken english, simply said: 'Go Juice'. Analysts believe he was referring to O.J. Simpson.
